A collaboration between The Mesdag Collection and the American School of The Hague.
Step into the former residence of Sientje and Hendrik Willem, who painted and collected a wide range of paintings and artworks from the late 19th century. In their time, they collected contemporary art. Today, The Mesdag Collection honours that history by creating occasional exhibitions on contemporary art.
As a museum, we feel a responsibility to open our doors to young people, allowing them to engage with works of art. This not only stimulates curiousity but also starts meaningful conversations, helping them understand the world around them a little better. Art has the power to transcend disciplines, which is exactly why The Mesdag Collection is excited to collaborate with The American School of The Hague
As part of the recently opened exhibition by The Hague-based Anne Geene, students of the American School of The Hague will present their own work using Geene's perspective of nature as their backdrop; additionally, with help from artist Laura Snijders, the students explored ways of using materials to respond to their individual investigations.
Thursday 27 March 2025 will be the presentation from 6 to 8:30 pm.
